Dr William Cortner (Jason Evers) is in a car crash that that decapitates his fiancée. Luckily, Dr Bill is a mad scientist and brings her back from the dead by keeping her head alive in his secret laboratory. But he's not satisfied with just her head, so he goes on the prowl for body parts for the ultimate body makeover.
A disembodied female head floating in a bowl. A hideous monster locked a closet. The head develops telepathic powers that let her communicate with the hidden monster.
It's 1962, and what we have is the pre-feminist exploration of women who are not in control of their own bodies. Dr Bill wishes to build Jan a body of his own design. Jan chooses the uncontrollable, unthinking beast that will change the relationship between them forever.
"The Pill", the sexual revolution, and the feminist movement were just a few short explosive years away. The Brain That Wouldn't Die is a cinematic voice crying in the wilderness.
